Short version: we store the voicemails, videos and photos your guests leave so you can listen to them. We don't sell anything about anyone. You can delete all of it whenever you like.

Who we are

Two kinds of people use this service

• Couples (account holders) who sign up, set up a wedding and pay for it.
• Guests who scan a sign at a wedding and leave a message. Guests don't create accounts and we never learn who they are unless they type their name.

What we collect and why

From couples	Why
Email address	To sign you in (we email you a link instead of using passwords) and to send receipts and service messages.
Wedding details: names, date, greeting, web link	Shown to your guests on the phone page and printed on your sign.
Payment	Handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number; we store only a reference to the payment.
From guests	Why
Voicemails, videos and photos they choose to leave, plus an optional name and caption	This is the product. They're stored so the couple can listen, watch and download them.
From everyone	Why
Standard server logs: IP address, time, page requested, browser type	Security, abuse prevention and fixing problems. Kept for a short time and then rotated.

What we don't do

• We don't sell, rent or share personal information with advertisers.
• We don't use guest messages for anything other than showing them to the couple whose wedding they were left at. No training of AI models, no analytics on their content, no listening by our staff except when a couple asks us for help with a specific message.
• We don't use tracking pixels, ad networks or analytics cookies.

Cookies

We use only functional cookies, set by us:

• wp_session: keeps a couple signed in. 30 days.
• wp_g_…: set when a guest scans the sign, so they can leave messages without re-scanning. 30 days. It contains no personal information.

Who else touches the data

Only providers we need to run the service, each bound by their own privacy terms:

• Stripe, for payments.
• Mailgun, for sending sign-in links and receipts.
• DigitalOcean, where the servers and files live, in the United States.
• Cloudflare, which provides our domain's DNS and forwards email sent to our support address.
• Google Fonts, which serves the typeface on our pages; Google may see your IP address when a font loads.

How long we keep things

• Guest messages: until the couple deletes them or deletes the wedding. Couples can download everything as a zip at any time and delete the copy we hold.
• Account details: until you ask us to close your account, which deletes every wedding and message on it.
• Server logs: rotated automatically within a few weeks.
• Backups: copies may persist for up to 30 days after deletion before they're overwritten.

Guests' rights, and the couple's responsibility

Guests choose to leave a message; nothing is sent without them tapping "send", and they can see and hear exactly what they're sending first. Recordings belong to the couple to keep. If you're a guest and want a message you left removed, ask the couple, who can delete it instantly from their dashboard, or email us with the wedding link and roughly when you left it and we'll help.

Couples are responsible for how they share what their guests left them. Please don't publish someone's message somewhere they wouldn't expect it.

Your rights

Wherever you are, you can ask us to show you, correct, export or delete the personal data we hold about you. Email hello@giveusaring.com and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're in the EU, UK or California, you have additional statutory rights, and you can complain to your local data protection authority if you think we've got something wrong.

Children

Accounts are for adults. Guests at a wedding may be any age; a child's message is left at their family's discretion and can be deleted by the couple on request.

Security

Everything travels over HTTPS. Sign-in links expire after 15 minutes and work once. The QR code on your sign carries a secret key, so only people who scanned it at the wedding can leave messages. Files are stored on servers we control with access limited to the people running the service. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your data we'll tell you promptly.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll email account holders before it takes effect. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
